The following is a list of the groups and plays selected by Sandy MacDonald, the preliminary adjudicator, for this years Festival in Woodstock.
Monday March 16 – Aylmer Community Theatre
Bedtime Stories by Norm Foster
This show takes the audience into six different bedrooms to explore the nature of love with humour and sensitivity.
Tuesday, March 17 – Theatre Burlington
Copenhagen by Michael Frayn
Actual people, famous physicists, they are all dead and gone, but have come back to recreate a real and momentous historical mystery in world history from 1941. Using only what they find at hand, they circle the nucleus of the event like neutrons, with calamitous results.
Wednesday, March 18 – Galt Little Theatre
Queen Milli of Galt by Gary Kirkham.
A charming romantic comedy based on a true story. In l972 after the death of the Duke of Windsor, an 80 year old woman from the small town of Galt dies and on her tombstone is engraved ‘The Wife of the Duke of Windsor’.
Thursday, March 19 – Theatre Sarnia
Night Sky by Susan Yankowitz
Night Sky is about listening and language, about inner and outer space, about a medical condition, a family's ordeal, an individual triumph - but most of all, it is about communication.
Friday March 20 – Elora Community Theatre
Anne of Green Gables by Lucy M. Montgomery, adapted for stage by Joseph Robinette (non-musical).
The enduring Canadian classic about the orphan girl Anne Shirley and her quest for friendship, love, acceptance and a home
